Larry Whitaker, Jr. and Robert Garris, both students at Norfolk State University and entrepreneurs needed a place to sell the merchandise for the brands. As they thought about their issue, they discovered that not only do they have that issue, but others may have the same problem of having a place to market their products and services.
The two agreed on the name Mind Ya Business Pop-Up Shop with the idea of "popping up" in different areas, found a location, and hosted the first event on June 19, 2019 in honor of Juneteenth and Black economic freedom.
Since 2019, the Mind Ya Business Pop-Up Shop team has grown, been interviewed by local news, and hosted various pop-up shop events in Virginia's 757 cities, Richmond, VA and Harlem, New York impacting a multitude of communities and over a total of 700 business and counting.
The brand has been continually trusted to provide a genuine, safe, and creative environment for ALL those who attend events hosted by and people served by Mind Ya Business Pop-Up Shop.
